On Monday, March 3, 2025, Caidyn and Addison participated in a virtual meeting with DCY and OhioMAS staff members. The focus was on Ohio youth entrusted to congregate care facilities.
During the discussion:
- Addison recommended that the revision process to Ohio restraint practices needs to include both DCY and OhioMAS, because they have different rules.
- Addison recommended that supine restraints be banned, and that ideally there would be no restraints that press a person against a wall or the floor, making it difficult for them to breath. Ordering restraint for hours is also a concern.
- Addison and Caidyn shared their insights and recommendations regarding the future creation of a public database of licensed residential facilities here in Ohio.
