For youth who want and need to be removed from abusive placements, their options are:
- To call their local child abuse hotline, and hope their concerns will be taken seriously
- To rely upon mandated reporters such as educators and police officers
- To seek to share their voices with the court, such as writing a letter to their judge or magistrate
What could and should this look like? With a youth-focused lens. Let's work backwards from what youth are asking for, and how to meet this unmet need.
